Under the general direction of the Program Manager (PM), the incumbent is responsible for supervising, planning, and coordinating the activities of a multi-disciplinary professional staff. The incumbent directly supervises the work of Section staff, coordinates the Section’s work with other Safety Policy Division sections, Commission divisions, and state agencies, as necessary, and ensures timely completion of high-quality work products that align with the Division's and Commission's goals and objectives. The incumbent actively participates as a member of Safety Policy Division’s management team. The incumbent will oversee and assist with the creation of resolutions ratifying Wildfire Mitigation Plans and other policy and procedural matters to be voted on by the Commission.

The incumbent will lead the development, recommendation, and implementation of policy through data-driven analysis and research. The incumbent will ensure the production of clear and concise briefing materials for effectively communicating policy and technical recommendations to a range of audiences, including Commissioners and CPUC executives, verbally, in writing, and in formal presentations. The incumbent will oversee the production of policy documents, memoranda, white papers, and other material related to wildfire risk, utility safety performance, and other matters related to safe and reliable provision of energy to Californians by regulated utilities.
