The California Public Utilities Commission’s (CPUC) Communications Division is** **seeking to hire student assistants who can reason logically and creatively and utilize a variety of analytical techniques to resolve average to complex governmental problems; develop and evaluate alternatives; analyze data and present ideas and information effectively; and gain and maintain the confidence and cooperation of those contacted during the course of work.
Under direct supervision of the supervisor or its designee, the student assistant will perform work of low to average difficulty in a wide variety of consultative and analytical assignments in support of work under the Communications Division Carrier Oversight and Programs Branch:
- Advice Letter Division Support (e.g., monitor mailboxes, maintenance and update of database systems, preparation of weekly/monthly reports).
- Mailbox Management and Support (e.g., monitor inboxes, assign and/or respond to inquiries, track issues).
- Database management and support (e.g., utility contact information requests – add, remove, update using multiple database systems, Carrier Reporting and Remittance Support).
- Compliance Review and Analysis (e.g., review of annual filings, and citation related support).
- Data Request Support (researching compliance, tracking responses and inquiries).
- Records Retention Support.
