We are seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to join our team as the Classification and Hiring Manager (Staff Services Manager I (SSM I)). In this leadership position, you will manage a team of analysts dedicated to delivering exceptional customer service, resolving complex personnel matters, and providing expert guidance on classification and hiring activities. You’ll work under the general direction of the Staff Services Manager II and personally handle some of the most sensitive and challenging work.
As SSM I, you will:
- Supervise, train and support a team focused on classification and hiring activities.
- Ensure Human Resource (HR) operations align with California's civil service merit-based principles.
- Oversee classification and personnel processes are in compliance with state laws, regulations, and Commission policies.
- Serve as a consultative expert on classification, pay, and hiring practices.
