The Kentucky Public Service Commission (PSC) regulates the intrastate rates and services of more than 1,100 investor-owned electric, natural gas, telephone, water and sewage utilities, customer-owned electric and telephone cooperatives, water districts and associations, and certain aspects of gas pipelines. Our mission is to foster the provision of safe and reliable service at a reasonable price to the customers of jurisdictional utilities while providing for the financial stability of those utilities by setting fair and just rates.

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

  • Serves as Purchasing Officer managing and coordinating the procurement of all purchases for PSC
  • Provides on-going oversight with staff having purchasing authority
  • Coordinates and helps manage the PSC's budgetary issues
  • Processes payment documents (PRCs) in eMARS
  • Assists management in the approval of PRCs in eMARS
  • Serves as the agency's ProCard administrator
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Preferred Skills and Abilities:

  • Experience with state budget and procurment
  • Experience in developing or assisting with the development of request for proposals
  • Excellent eMARS knowledge, skills, and experience
  • Ability to work professionally and cooperatively as part of a team
  • Excellent and professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to plan and establish priorities, differentiating between urgent, important, and unimportant tasks
  • Excellent organizational skills including time management, scheduling, coordinating resources and meeting deadlines
  • Attention to detail being thorough and accurate in completing tasks.
