The Public Utilities Commission of Nevada is a state agency that regulates public utilities (approximately 400 statewide) engaged in electric, natural gas, telephone, water, and wastewater services; geothermal facilities; gas and electric “master meter” service at mobile home parks; and some propane systems. The PUCN also inspects Nevada’s railways for safety and monitors gas pipelines across the state. The PUCN does not regulate cooperatives or municipal-owned utilities.
