About The Human Resources Department

The Human Resources (HR) department advises supervisors and managers regarding human resources matters, providing information to the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO) employees, job applicants, governmental agencies and the public in compliance with the Ohio Revised Code (ORC), OCSEA/AFSCME Collective Bargaining Agreement, Department of Administrative Services (DAS) regulations and PUCO policies, rules, and procedures. Human Resources is responsible for payroll, benefits, employee training, Equal Employee Opportunity (EEO) and American with Disabilities Act (ADA), and labor relations for PUCO employees.

What You Will Do

In this position as a Human Capital Management Senior Analyst, you will:

  • Serves as the agency's primary point of contact for class plan proposals, coordinating revisions and supporting the development of draft classification specifications
  • Assist in the creation, interpretation, and implementation of human resources program policies
  • Support and help oversee the agency's applicant selection process
  • Consistently utilize Recruit system to post vacant positions, screen applications, and communicate with candidates
  • Participate in interview panels at the request of hiring managers
  • Coordinate the applicant assessment process (e.g. coordinate subject matter experts (SME) for job analysis
  • Collaborate with SME's and Organizational Assessment Research Analyst to develop test questions and scoring rubrics, and proctor examinations as needed

Report in location: 180 E. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43215, Franklin County.

PUCO core hours of operation are Monday-Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm, however, daily start/end times may vary based on operational need across PUCO departments. Most positions perform work on-site at the PUCO Central Office. The PUCO offers flextime work schedules that allow an employee to start the day as early as 6:00am or as late as 10:30am. Flex-time schedules are based on operational need and require supervisor approval.

3 yrs. exp. in human resources.

  • Or completion of undergraduate core program in human resources, business or public administration; 12 mos. exp. in human resources.
  • Or 1 yr. exp. as Human Capital Management Analyst, 64612.
  • Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
