This position is within the LA Public Service Commission’s (LPSC) Management & Finance Division – Information Technology - Records Division. The Records Division is responsible for maintaining all records of the LPSC. Records are maintained in paper form, microfilm, and electronically for the entire Commission, including the Administrative Law, Utilities, Office of General Counsel/Legal, Auditing, Economics, Management/Finance, and Transportation divisions. In addition to maintaining all records, the Records division works as the IT department's primary point of contact with commission staff and the public on interfacing with the Commission’s electronic document management and case docketing system (Valence system).
We’re looking for an IT Associate to serve as the first point of contact for the Records Division, creating a professional environment for visitors and providing support that keeps our division running smoothly.

Job Duties:
As an IT Associate, you'll be the first point of contact for runners, visitors, and employees who come to file paperwork with Records. In this role, you will:
- Greet visitors, runners, and staff with kindness and professionalism
- Need the basic skill set of computer operations, typing, scanning, copying, faxing, Word, Excel, and Outlook
- All Records employees are liaisons to staff and the public regarding the web access to our public digital database. We need to be able to communicate well and troubleshoot if there is an issue, and report it to the correct IT personnel to keep things running smoothly
- Open mail, date/time stamp paperwork, process incoming filings, and assist people to the front desk if they have inadvertently come to the wrong entrance. These tasks include data entry, scanning, filing, and distribution of filings
- Require the ability to handle confidential information with discretion, demonstrating trustworthiness and ethical judgement.
- Answer incoming calls, route messages, provide general information, and forward calls to the Business Analyst or Supervisor about any divisional requirement questions.
- Box, organize, and keep digital records of locations of all daily paperwork in file rooms. This job is also to maintain all file rooms in a neat and organized manner so documents can be easily accessed.
- Along with other staff, maintain the cleanliness and organization of the records room to ensure an efficient working environment
- Occasionally attend Records Management Training to ensure we are always in compliance with the Secretary of State’s requirements

Work Schedule: Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday.
Compensation: The salary offered will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
