Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop, maintain, and communicate the enterprise architecture strategy, principles, standards, and roadmaps
  • Collaborate with business and IT leadership to ensure technology alignment with organizational goals and mission priorities
  • Design and oversee the implementation of enterprise-wide solutions that are secure, scalable, and cost-effective
  • Lead architecture governance processes, reviewing project designs and ensuring adherence to architectural standards
  • Evaluate emerging technologies and trends, providing strategic recommendations to drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Partner with information security teams to ensure architectures support cybersecurity best practices and regulatory requirements
  • Work with vendors and external partners to evaluate and integrate third-party solutions when appropriate
  • Prepare necessary procurement documentation for technology products and consulting services; participate in the vendor selection process; and monitor and evaluate consultants’ performance
  • Maintain and evolve current and future-state architectural models across business, data, application, and infrastructure domains
  • Support portfolio management, technology risk assessments, and IT investment planning
  • Perform related work as required

Preferred Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of IT experience, including significant time in a solution design, architecture, technical leadership, or strategic IT planning role
  • Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS) and modern integration strategies
  • Demonstrated expertise in Virginia IT Agency’s SEC530 information security standard and/or cybersecurity and compliance frameworks, including NIST, SOC2, ISO27001, and federal regulations like FedRAMP, supporting secure and compliant data environments
  • Hands on experience authoring, reviewing, and approving System Security Plans (SSPs)
  • Broad knowledge of enterprise IT domains such as infrastructure, applications, security, cloud computing, and data management
  • Experience managing IT service capabilities such as charge back models and ROI Working knowledge of SaaS based systems such as Box Enterprise Content Management, Adobe Management Platform, the Microsoft Power Platform, and Robotic Process Automation solutions
  • Ability to translate business needs into enterprise technology strategies and solutions
  • Ability to coordinate and oversee the work of staff and/or project teams
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills
  • A bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required with sufficient professional experience
